Israeli actress Noa Tashvi arrived at a pro-Palestinian demonstration that took place on Monday outside the festival Movies which is taking place these days in Utah, to try to understand whether the pro-Palestinian demonstrators understand what they are protesting about. The answer is not surprising: they are far from understanding what they are protesting.
A video uploaded by Tashivi to the Instagram account received 5 million views. “It turns out that anti-Semitism and hatred have arrived at the Sundance Film Festival,” Tashvi wrote. “People are calling for a ceasefire, which is exactly what happened before Hamas massacred the Jews.”
Tashvi asked one of the demonstrators what the “river” is from the slogan from “the river to the sea, Palestine will be free”, and he replied: “I forgot the name of the river, but the sea is the Red Sea”. Another protester was asked and replied: “The sea is the Black Sea and the river is on the other side of Gaza.”
Another young woman clarified that she was “demonstrating against the occupation”. Tashvi asked a question about the Israeli abductees and she answered: “I am not sufficiently learned on the subject.” Another protester claimed that under Israel “it is forbidden to eat chocolate, it is forbidden to wear wedding dresses and it has been like this for more than 15 years”.
Another protester is seen in the video holding a “stop the bombings” sign. She told Tshebi: “The story is genocide, not Hamas. Hamas is not even there, they are not in Gaza.”
Another protester was asked if she understood what happened to the Israeli women who were murdered in the massacre and answered: “I heard things, but I also heard that they were not verified.” Tashvi summed up what she heard like this: “As you can see, they are calling for the genocide of Jews here, but they don’t know what they are talking about.”
The video, as mentioned, went viral and gained over 5 million views. It is being distributed these days all over the world, in order to explain that the pro-Palestinian demonstrators are acting out of “brainwashing” and do not recognize the facts at all.
