Noa Lang was injured on Sunday in the Eredivisie match between Sparta Rotterdam and PSV. As a result, the attacker appears to have to miss the matches with the Dutch team in the coming international period.
Lang felt his thigh in the first half and made it clear to his coach Peter Bosz that he could not continue. The 24-year-old winger was replaced by Hirving Lozono after more than half an hour and immediately went to the dressing room of Het Kasteel.
The coming days will reveal how serious Lang’s injury is. The Dutch international was able to leave independently. Lang excelled at PSV in his first games this season and has scored four goals in the Eredivisie so far.
With Lang’s injury, national coach Ronald Koeman’s concerns increase even more. The former defender was also told earlier that Sven Botman, Cody Gakpo, Frenkie de Jong, Memphis Depay and Matthijs de Ligt would not be available due to injuries.
The Dutch national team will meet in Zeist on Monday. A European Championship qualifier against France is scheduled for Friday. Three days later, the Dutch team visits Greece. The top two of the group qualify directly for next year’s European Championships.
The match between Sparta and PSV is still ongoing. The score was 0-0 when Lang left the field.
