All labor is therefore an expenditure of human power and that which is necessary for the formation of a commodity or a service.
Labor is therefore both an alienation when it becomes surplus labor (this is the unpaid part of labor and therefore “slave” labor), that is to say a confiscation of created value, and the act by which human beings construct the world and society.
