He has played in eight Ryder Cups, but this year Tiger Woods will probably not even be in the audience. That is what the American team captain Steve Stricker says. – It will probably not happen, he says.
Woods was involved when the United States lost in 2018, but at the beginning of the year, the 45-year-old was involved in a serious car accident and sustained extensive injuries.
The 15-time major winner was never relevant for games in this year’s match against Europe, but Stricker would have liked to have had him in the audience.
– I know that some of the players have visited him, but I do not think it is good for him to be here physically, considering where he is in his rehabilitation. He’s getting better and better, and he’s fully focused on getting back to the game again. We should not stand in his way, because we all want to see him back on track, says Stricker.
The Ryder Cup begins on Friday in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, USA.
