In a thrilling game in the 9th round of the 1st class Mur/Mürz B, Phönix Mürzzuschlag/Hönigsberg met SK Stojen. After a goalless first half, both teams scored one goal each, so the game ended in a 1-1 draw.
Goalless first half
The first half of the game between Phönix Mürzzuschlag and SK Stojen was uneventful. Both teams were defensively stable and only allowed a few chances. While the hosts tried to break through SK Stojen’s defense with a quick combination game, the guests relied on a compact defense and looked for counterattack opportunities. In the 83rd minute, their efforts were finally rewarded: Sebastian Haagen broke through in the penalty area and scored the much celebrated 1-1. The goal brought great relief to the fans and players of Phönix Mürzzuschlag.
In the remaining minutes both teams tried to score the decisive goal, but the defenses stood strong and did not allow any further goals.

Martin Stepwieser (coach Stojen): “Over 90 minutes it was a fairly even match, although Hönigsberg had more chances to score. Nevertheless, we took the lead and only got the equalizer late on. All in all, in my opinion it was a draw that no one can complain.”
