KOMPAS.com – Have a snack afterward is having dinner so far considered capable of triggering an increase weight.
However, there is some evidence that you don’t have to worry about when to eat if you want to lose weight.
This is because, a recent study found, the timing of meals makes no difference in weight loss, as long as we eat the right amount. calories Same.

In this study, researchers looked at 41 adults who were overweight for 12 weeks.
Most of the participants ate a calorie meal before 1pm each day. Then the others ate a meal with the same number of calories after 5 p.m.
During the study, all participants ate the same healthy food that had been prepared beforehand.
At the end of the study, participants from both groups experienced weight loss and good blood pressure, unaffected by food.

So, it’s clear that eating early is of no benefit, said study author Dr Nisa Maruthur.
Maruthur is a professor of medicine, epidemiology, and nursing at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, United States, who conducted the research.
“We thought the time-limited group would lose more weight,” said Maruthur.
“But it didn’t. We didn’t see a difference in weight loss for those who ate the most calories earlier than at night. “
“We also didn’t see any effect on blood pressure,” he continued.

Research in September found that eating late at night was associated with eating more processed food and more calories.
Nighttime snacks often contain alcohol, and there is evidence that drunk people tend to eat unhealthy snacks and overeat.
But according to recent research, there’s no reason eating late at night isn’t healthy.
When it comes to weight loss, calories are always more important than mealtime.
“We wondered whether the fact that someone eats during the day affects the way the body uses and stores energy,” Maruthur said.
He added that most of the results of previous studies did not control the number of calories.
It is therefore unclear whether people who eat earlier eat fewer calories.

“In this study, what we change is when to eat,” he said.
These results will be presented to American Heart Association Scientific Session 2020 this month.
The researchers also gathered more detailed results from the study and looked at data on how meal timing might affect blood sugar, insulin and other hormones.
