LEIDSCHENDAM – The fire brigade searched for possible victims for more than an hour on Saturday evening after a boat sank in Leidschendam. In the end, no one was found.

Around eight o’clock the fire brigade received a report about a boat that had hit something along the Vlietweg and had sunk. A light was burning on the boat, which led to the suspicion that there might be people on board.

Because it concerned a large search area and there was uncertainty about possible victims, the fire brigade deployed various diving units. A crane of the Leidschendam-Voorburg fire brigade lifted the boat so that divers could also search in and under the boat.
