BUITENPOST – From November 18 to Sunday November 29 there are no trains between Buitenpost and Groningen. The reason for this is work on the track for the Extra Fast Train Groningen-Leeuwarden (ESGL).
On Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 November there are also no trains between Leeuwarden and Zuidhorn. From Friday 27 to Sunday 29 November there will be no trains to and from Leeuwarden, which means no trains between Leeuwarden and Harlingen Haven, no trains between Leeuwarden and Stavoren and no trains between Leeuwarden and Akkrum. On Monday, November 30, there will be no trains between Leeuwarden and Hurdegaryp.
Consequences for the train journey:
Arriva uses both stop and express buses. NS also uses stop and express buses. Travelers should take into account a maximum of 30 minutes extra travel time. It is not possible to take bicycles on the buses.
Werkzaamheden ESGL
From Monday, December 14, an extra express train will run between Groningen and Leeuwarden. To make this possible, ProRail is relocating signals and other railway objects on the Leeuwarden-Buitenpost route. The security in the track is being reset and systems tested. Leeuwarden station will also have a longer and wider platform and Hurdegaryp longer platforms. This creates more space for trains and travelers. Check in and out
It is not possible to check in and out on the buses. You can check in and out at the train station or at mobile check-in and check-out poles.
Travel planner
Arriva and NS advise travelers to plan their journey in advance on the travel planner www.arriva.nl of via www.ns.nl.
