On Saturday 15 August two celebrations are celebrated – the Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary and the Feast of the Polish Army. It is a public holiday workingand therefore most stores will be closed. Shopping centers and large stores will be closed that day. Only those establishments that are not covered by the act prohibiting trading on Sundays and public holidays may be open at this time. The opening of stores, however, will depend on the owner of each store.

Are we going to shop this weekend?
On August 16 this non-trading Sunday. This means that all shopping malls and large-format stores are closed on that day Lidl, Ladybug or Tesco.
The next shopping Sunday falls on August 30, due to the beginning of the school year. You will have to wait for the next ones until the last month of the year. Then, in connection with Christmas, the stores will be open on Sunday, December 13 and 20.
As you can see, shopping this weekend will be difficult. The smaller ones will be possible e.g. in local shops or abkach. Larger ones should be planned for Friday, especially since some chains especially extend their opening hours on that day.
Biedronka and Netto extend their opening hours before the weekend
According to TVN24, Biedronka extended the working hours of its facilities on Friday. “In this way, the network makes it easier for customers to prepare for a non-commercial weekend. Therefore, over 2,000 Biedronka stores throughout Poland will be open until 23.00 on Thursday and Friday, and over 100 stores will also remain open during the night from Thursday to Friday” – the network announced in a message sent to the portal.
The Netto chain also decided to extend the opening hours. “On Friday, August 14, 2020, the working hours of all the outlets of the Netto retail chain will be extended. Shops will be open from 6.00 to 23.00” – indicated the press office.
