There was a large participation in the event promoted and organized by Fratelli d’Italia on Saturday 9 November to once again say “no” to the reactivation of the Tana Termini waste treatment plant. The promoters were present at the initiative: the group leader in the regional council Vittorio Fantozzi, the vice-president of the IV environment commission, Alessandro Capecchi, Diego Petrucci, of Fratelli d’Italia. And then the municipal councilors of Fratelli d’Italia: in Bagni di Lucca Annamaria Frigo, in Abetone Cutigliano Andrea Tonarelli, Alessandro Olioni and Vanessa Ceccarelli, in San Marcello Piteglio Chiara Venturi.
“The environmental and landscape aspect is the most relevant one – we read in the note released after the event – in an area that has already suffered the propagation of bad odors for years. Then there is the possible compromise of the waters of the Lima stream, around which sports activities such as rafting and canyoning have developed and continue to grow, which employ many people and are bringing seasonally adjusted and “good” tourism to an area that strongly needs it”.
The slogan of the demonstration: “There is not even a reason to reactivate the plant at Tana Termini in San Marcello Piteglio and Bagni di Lucca”, is also agreed by the administrations of the two municipalities involved, furthermore it is underlined that There is also a lack of adequate roads, so much so that citizens, entrepreneurs and associations agree in wanting to put a stop to the project.
“What prospects does this plant have – continues the press release – given that 27,000 tonnes of OFMSW waste (organic fraction derived from urban waste) are expected without knowing which flows they come from? There are also two accesses to the area missing which are the minimum for fire prevention regulations .
“We don’t even find a reason – we read again – why the regional council could approve, at the end of the Paur procedure (single regional authorization provision), this project. We are convinced that, after two years, the accurate evaluation by the offices of the Region of Tuscany is complete, and, also in light of this initiative, the community of the Val di Lima, and beyond, expects a common sense decision: to say no to this plant and instead continue the relaunch of this part of our mountain. “Which must follow – concludes Fratelli d’Italia – its natural tourist-environmental vocation, with the hope that all the mountain administrations are united on this. As we were reminded by a great leader of the Tuscan right, whose memory we are all linked to, Carluccio Ceccarelli”.
