Fierce competition occurred in the race for tickets to the last 16 Champions League in Group H. No team there has yet confirmed a place in the next phase.
Group H is arguably the hell in the group Champions League 2020/2021. Tm-strong team for example Manchester United, Paris Saint Germain, RB Leipzig, as well Istanbul Basaksehir compete against each other there.
Competition to qualify from the group stage is tight until the fifth matchday of the Champions League on Thursday (3/12/2020) in the morning WIB. MU, PSG and RB Leipzig still have a chance to qualify for the last 16.
Leipzig managed to beat Istanbul in a seven-goal drama that took place at the Fatih Terim Stadium. The Red Bulls ended the match with a narrow 4-3 win over the home team.
Four Leipzig goals were scored by Yussuf Poulsen in the 26th minute, Nordi Mukiele (43 ‘), Dani Olmo (66’), and Alexander Sorloth (90 + 2 ‘). Istanbul pulled back three goals through Irfan Kahveci’s hat-trick (45 + 2 ‘, 42’, 85 ‘).
In other matches, MU as the top of the standings only needed a draw against PSG to seal a place to the last 16. Entertaining The Parisians at Old Trafford, the Red Devils fell 1-3.
PSG won thanks to two goals from Neymar and a goal from Marquinhos. MU was only able to score one goal back via Marcus Rashford, plus played with 10 players in the second half due to Fred’s second yellow card.
This defeat has not made MU displaced from the top of the standings. However, PSG and Leipzig are now able to match the Red Devils’ points, which is nine points.
As a result, determining who gets the ticket to the last 16 will be determined on the last Group H matchday next week. A duel of life and death will be presented between MU and Leipzig at the Red Bull Ring Arena.
Meanwhile, PSG will have their final group match against Istanbul Basaksehir at the Parc des Princes. Kylian Mbappe cs only needs a minimum of a draw to be able to continue his adventure in the Champions League.
