No room full of apprentices clapping during Apple announcement at WWDC | NOW

Apple’s annual WWDC developer conference will not take place on location in the US state of California this year, the company announced Friday on its website. Instead, the event will be a “completely new online experience for millions of talented and creative developers from around the world.”

Thousands of programmers come to the event every year. They visit presentations by, among others, Apple director Tim Cook and other top people within the company. WWDC mainly revolves around software: new features that will later come to iPhones and iPads are announced.

It is unclear what exactly WWDC 2020 will look like. The opening presentation can normally be followed via a live stream for users of Apple products. Normally in the following days there is room for developers and students to delve deeper into the software.

In all likelihood, Apple would announce iOS 14 in June, the new software for iPhones. The presentation is usually held in a room with thousands of curious and applauding developers who demonstrate their enthusiasm for new features.
