The game was fair from the start. Both teams started bravely as they looked for the way forward. Already in the 10th minute, the women of Graz were able to pose a threat for the first time with a strong corner, but the Austrian defense remained alert. The Violets got their first shot through Louise Schöffel in the 18th minute, but the ball sailed over the goal. After a short time, another corner of the Graz team remained unused (21′).
Balance in the first half
As the game progressed, more and more chances came, but both teams were unsure in finishing. Schöffel tried again, but missed the target again (24th). Soon after, Lena Triendl forced the Graz goalkeeper to make a save (25th). Shortly before the half-time whistle, the hosts were able to build pressure again and win several corners, but Haidner and the purple defenders defended with confidence.
