Right from the stands of the Lusail stadium Paul Pogba witnessed the unfortunate defeat of the French team in the World Cup final. Obviously, the Juventus Turin midfielder would have liked to be on the pitch throughout this World Cup, and especially against Argentina in the final. But his form doesn’t allow him to set foot on the pitch yet. Embarrassed by his right knee, Paul Pogba hasn’t played a single minute this season. Juve have not yet been able to take advantage of the return of their midfielder and are starting to lose patience.
Pogba late, Allegri s’agace
Expected for the resumption of Serie A, Paul Pogba will not face Napoli on 13 January. In any case, Massimiliano Allegri does not feed false hopes. “There’s no point in hoping for a player who hasn’t run for a minute. Pogba is not training and I don’t know when he will be back. I won’t repeat myself over and over again“, dropped the Juve coach, a little annoyed, in the Gazzetta dello Sport. The Italian sports newspaper announces Paul Pogba’s return to the field at least in February. The French international follows a personalized schedule and is expected to gradually return to group training.
If Massimiliano Allegri seems a little annoyed, so too do the managers of Juventus Turin. The latter have bet heavily on Pogba’s return and are inevitably disappointed six months later. Sportingly speaking, of course, but also from an economic point of view. Very simple, this return of the former Manchester United, for zero minutes played, has so far cost the Old Lady 5.24 million euros. This was the salary paid to the player, who fortunately had arrived free in Piedmont. This return of Paul Pogba to Juve therefore seems to be a huge fiasco for the moment.
