Mexico City. Senator Ernestina Godoy, the next Legal Advisor to the President of the Republic, warned that the protection granted to a foundation to prevent the publication of the reform to the Judicial Branch in the Official Gazette is not admissible.
“It is clearly inappropriate. They forget that constitutional reforms cannot be challenged,” he said, lamenting that the judiciary continues to act illegally, only “to defend its privileges.”
The president of the Senate’s Constitutional Affairs Committee stressed that no judge can issue a resolution that prevents the publication of the reform, after the legislative process has concluded.
“They cannot, they are doing things that are clearly inappropriate, the Constitution does not provide for it,” stressed the Morena senator, in relation to the fact that yesterday the Second District Judge in the state of Colima granted a provisional suspension in favor of the Iris Foundation for the Promotion and Defense of Human Rights AC, so that the judicial reform is not published in the Official Gazette of the Federation at least until next October 11.
Why is the judiciary granting this type of protection? He was asked prior to the Senate session in which the declaration of validity of the reform was formulated.
“Because they are against giving up privileges, giving up opacity, giving up the whole issue of not answering to the people, that there is no republican austerity, that there is no one to supervise them like all public servants. But they have to understand that the reform has already been approved,” Senator Godoy responded.
