The concluded case would concern Martijn N., a program director. The other charges were brought against band leader Jeroen Rietbergen and jury members Ali B. and Marco Borsato. They would have been guilty of sexual misconduct and/or abuse of power. The Public Prosecutor’s Office itself does not provide any information on the identity of the suspects.
No evidence has been found in the completed case to support the allegations. Two people had reported separately from each other. To arrive at a conviction, additional evidence is needed, such as an incriminating testimony or traces found.
The question of whether or not the incidents occurred remains unanswered, the OM said.
Justice does not question the statements of the victims
The lawyer Sébas Diekstra, who has several victims around The voice advises NU.nl that the prosecutors in this case had a personal meeting with two victims on Tuesday. Both victims were candidates for the program.
In this conversation they were told that their statements would be withdrawn. According to Diekstra, the officers “emphatically stated that there is no doubt about their statements, but that no supporting evidence has been found.”
For his clients this is “obviously a very unsatisfactory conclusion to the criminal investigation,” the lawyer said.
The other three investigations will not be completed before the beginning of next year, the OM reports.
