All teams in the Jupiler Pro League have received their professional license from the KBVB Licensing Committee. In the Challenger Pro League, three teams were provisionally given the red light: KV Oostende, Francs Borains and Patro Eisden.
At KV Ostende there have been problems with overdue payments all season. This concerns sums of money to the RSZ, a social secretariat of the KBVB and Club Brugge. The wages for March 2024 have also not yet been paid. For the time being, the committee will not grant the club a First National license as the “continuity of the club for the duration of the license” is not guaranteed.
The committee does not do that for the other two clubs either. At Patro Eisden, the file was barely supplemented for a long time, despite an effort at the beginning of April, a “quasi empty file” was submitted. On Francs Borains’ side, there is no evidence of some payments, including wages to club staff, debts to the KBVB, RSZ and withholding tax.
Antwerp is the only first division club where a negative comment is made. Antwerp will be fined 50,000 euros for infringements of the B criteria of the European license, which are determined by the European football association Uefa.
Finally, there is good news for KRC Genk, Club Brugge, AA Gent and Union: they are the only clubs that no longer require monitoring throughout the year due to their good records. This is the case with Charleroi if it does not drop to second division.
