The most important handball game of the year, the PC in Franeker, is canceled this year. Due to the corona virus, organizing the tournament is not responsible and, given the measures in force, it is not feasible, the PC committee reports.
The PC was originally scheduled to be held on July 29, but has already been moved to September 30 due to the corona crisis. Now it appears that that date is not feasible either. According to the committee, a PC with a limited audience is not an option.
It is the fifth time in 167-year history that the handball tournament has been canceled. In 1859 there was no PC for unknown reasons, in 1866 an outbreak of cholera was the reason and in the war years 1943 and 1944 no PC was kept either.
