Standing out in a world full of similarities has never been easy.
18-year-old Amrish from Madhya Pradesh, India has experienced this countless times, we are to believe the news agency Jam Press:
Throughout his youth, the young man has covered his face at school so as not to show what is hidden behind the mask.
Perhaps it would be more correct to say what does not hiding behind the mask:
Amrish hardly has a nose or teeth, and no proper jaw either.
– Almost no one wants to talk to me. Far fewer dare to give me a hug, and most people look away when I come walking, he says to Jam.
He tells of a difficult and sad childhood, where he has missed out on a lot because of his appearance.
The sight made them recoil
Attacked by wolves
The Indian boy was attacked by a wolf and allegedly bitten in the face when he was five months old.
His mother had been out in the woods working on the day of the accident. She had to take her son out with her, and thus put him in a small child seat some distance away.
A wolf allegedly attacked behind the mother’s back:
The quadruped is said to have feasted on Amrish’s face and bit him on the face.
Rage after this: – Unacceptable!
«Ghost Boy»
The wolf must have been quickly chased away, but for Amrish the damage had already been done. Since the attack, the face has grown crooked, and the nose that was lost has not been possible to replace.
Today the Indian boy turned eighteen. But instead of hanging around with friends or hunting for love, he mostly stays at home, the news agency writes further.
– There is no doubt that the attack has left deep traces in the soul and left lasting scars in every way, Amrish continues to tell Jam:
– Both children and adults are afraid of me. The local community calls me “Ghost Boy” and I generally have few friends.
He says that the nickname that is on the tongues of the whole village sends a chill down his spine.
Full furore after sausage shock
The 18-year-old says he cannot afford plastic surgery, so he has to live with his face. As a result, he has to live with all the consequences of that too – and there are many of them, we are to believe the eighteen-year-old:
Amrish claims to have lost the chance to enter several universities because of his appearance. He doesn’t get shop or restaurant jobs either, he says himself.
However, he will point out that he has a couple of friends he sees occasionally, who brighten his life somewhat. He has also become “well used to the situation”, and copes with the opposition much better now than before, according to Jam.
