“I’m going to trick you, you communist channel, fuck it.” In 1999, the staff of Czech Television wanted to record an interview with the then communist deputy Miloslav Ransdorf. But the interview began to be sabotaged by an angry pensioner, to whom people still refer today. His message even appeared on T-shirts. Watch the new episode of the retro show Back.

“What are you filming him for, you idiot, for TV,” an angry man asked a reporter who was planning to interview a communist politician. “It’s a democracy, sir. Even communists have the right to an opinion,” the editor of Czech Television tried to calm the situation. But the senior did not allow himself to be beaten and continued to curse Ransdorf and the journalist. “How come I couldn’t join him on TV? What do you say to me,” the man continued.
Although the angry pensioner did not make it to television, over time he became an Internet legend. People still refer to him twenty-four years later. “From the cycle: A citizen who deserves a statue,” one user wrote about the video on the social network X (formerly Twitter). The slogan “one communist channel” literally became popular and even appeared on the t-shirts of one e-shop.
14 years later, the angry “anti-communist” showed up in another video. At that time, he cursed left-wing radicals at Anděl in Prague. “You’re a communist? So what are you doing here? What I wouldn’t be doing here. How come you exist,” the pensioner asked a passing woman in the footage.
According to the authors of the video and Internet debaters, the man’s last name should be Jaroným. At the same time, one of the communists in the footage called him a “known provocateur”. Additional information about the pensioner is not publicly searchable.
