A tribute to heroes

All settlements in the municipality of Sozopol solemnly celebrated the National Holiday of the Republic of Bulgaria – March 3!

On the “Khan Krum” square in Sozopol, the beginning of the celebrations on the occasion of the 146th anniversary of the Liberation was given with the adoption of the formation of the representative block of the Burgas Naval Base with Commander Captain III Rank Kaloyan Popov, by the Commander of the Burgas Naval Base Captain I Rank Petar Petrov.
Under the sounds of the Bulgarian national anthem, the flags of the Republic of Bulgaria, the EU and the municipality of Sozopol were solemnly raised.

The children were thrilled

The youngest graduates of the “Snezhanka” kindergarten made an exciting dramatization of Pencho Slaveikov’s poem “Davash li Davash, Balkandji Yovo”.

The children from “Zdravets” kindergarten sang and recited patriotic songs for the motherland.

The students from the vocal group “Voices of Sozopol” at the SU “St. St. Cyril and Methodius” also sang songs reminding and praising the great deeds of the heroes who dedicated their lives to the people’s cause.

March 3rd is the date Bulgaria reappears on the political map of the world. This date is the crown for which hundreds of heroes gave their lives and which Bulgaria deserves. Freedom is the highest human value that we are happy to have today. But it is not a given. We must fight for it, because even today there are nations that do not have one. We will not forget the heroes, we will not forget Peruštitsa, Shipka, Batak and Stara Zagora. We bow our heads in memory and honor of those who died for our freedom. Long live a free and prosperous Bulgaria! Happy holiday!”. This is what Deputy Mayor Todor Damyanov told fellow militiamen.

In front of the arch of those who died for the freedom of Bulgaria, wreaths and flowers were presented on behalf of the Mayor of the municipality Tihomir Yanakiev, from the Municipal Administration, the Municipal Council and its chairman Stanimir Andonov, municipal councilors, Burgas Naval Base, political parties, non-governmental organizations, SU “St. .St. Cyril and Methodius” and citizens.

Tribute to heroes

The memory of the heroes for the Freedom of Mother Bulgaria was also honored with a one-minute silence on the knees.

The national holiday was solemnly celebrated in the city of Chernomorets.
A representative block was built in the park in front of the monument to the fallen soldiers, and the formation was accepted by the commander of the Burgas Naval Base.

Children also paid tribute to the heroes

Father Stiliyan from the church “St. Nicholas” in the city held a memorial service for the dead and sang a hymn to the Mother of God, with which the governors entered into battle. The father reminded that no Bulgarian flag was captured.

The ritual of laying wreaths and flowers was performed in front of the monument to those who died from the village of Saint Nicholas for the liberation of Bulgaria.

The holiday in Ravadinovo

Ravadinovo City Hall and “Prosveta” Primary School also organized a festive celebration. Mayor Ivan Pazvantov greeted the attendees, and the children performed a musical and poetic program that raised the patriotic spirit of all the guests.
