In Hogwarts Legacy, we play not only as wizards, but also as teenagers. So in addition to flying broomsticks, spells and supernatural dangers, the players are also engaged in the usual teenage activities: Whether participating in classes or making friends among other students. Accordingly, the question of whether we can romance other characters was also obvious. But the Avalanche Software studio reported that there will be no novels in the game.
We made a conscious decision not to. There is no way to do it well, after all, you are the main character in the game and you can be anyone. We want you to be who you want to be. This would be too difficult to do with novels.
The game will certainly have background relationships – for example, different characters will mention their partners or suitors in conversations – but the game just doesn’t want to focus on this topic. Thus, the player only has close friendships with some characters, such as his companions: Natsai Onai (Gryffindor), Amit Thakkar (Ravenclaw), Poppy Sweeting (Hufflepuff) and Sebastian Sallow (Slytherin).
Hogwarts Legacy releases February 10 on PS5, Xbox Series and PC, April 4 on PS4 and Xbox, and July 25 on Switch.
