GenPI.co – Dr. Aulia Jasmine as a veterinarian of PT Perfect Companion Indonesia revealed several first aid steps for wounds dog bites.
Treatment of dog bites by Doctor Aulia is important to prevent diseases caused by dogs, such as: rabies.
This was conveyed by Doctor Aulia in a webinar entitled “The Importance of the Rabies Vaccine for Your Favorite Dog”, Monday (27/9).

“Immediately wash the wound with soapy water or detergent and running water for 10 to 15 minutes,” said Doctor Aulia.
This, said Doctor Aulia, serves to clean viruses and dirt in dog bite wounds.

Next, give an antiseptic in the form of iodine or 70 percent alcohol to the dog bite scars.
“Finally, immediately take him to the puskesmas or hospital,” said Doctor Aulia.
Doctor Aulia then explained that rabies is one of the world’s strategic diseases that are zoonotic (transmitted from animals to humans).
