Since 2005, the National Memorial commemorates the war memorial on the square of the Olympic Stadium at 12.30 to reflect on the victims of war in Dutch sports.
Because that is not possible now, the organization looked for an alternative: the video above: “This is how the sports world shows how important it is to commemorate without coming together.”
“With the video we want to emphasize the dramatic effect of a completely empty stadium in which the Tattoo is played. It is a direct reference to this time without regular sports and without regular commemorations.”
