Since the beta version normally serves as a test area for the final version of WhatsApp, it can be assumed with a relatively high probability that it will soon no longer be used on iPhone 4 and 4S.
However, this is not yet entirely set in stone: No changes or announcements for iPhones with iOS 9 have been added to the WhatsApps FAQ. Owners of an iPhone 4 or 4S can therefore initially still use the standard version of WhatsApp without any problems.
By the way: Even smartphones with a version older than Android 4.0.3 are no longer supported by WhatsApp. However, the number of users of the Android version should also be manageable: The version appeared almost exactly nine years ago.
