Distinguishes between fertilization at planting time and bottom fertilization. Practices that are discouraged on flooded soils and on plots with slopes greater than 15% dedicated to woody crops, as well as on those lands with an average slope greater than 10% for herbaceous crops.
The recent regulation approved by the Government imposes a limit on the use of fertilizers in the designated areas. Along the same lines, in the Valencian Community, Order 10/2018 was approved on the use of fertilizing materials in agricultural holdings, with 170 kilograms of nitrogen per hectare per year, being able to complement the fertilizer with another of mineral or organic composition by above that amount to meet the needs of the crop. In addition to considering the rotation, the periods where nitrogenous fertilizer is discouraged are defined.
