Long queues in front of the entrance control and the use of pyrotechnics in the Allianz Arena could soon be a thing of the past. FC Bayern is relying on a new admission procedure: the “open gates” are intended to ensure more speed and security.
Munich – The FC Bayern enters the Allianz Arena new ways and relies on modern technology. Traditional manual checks by security guards are being replaced by metal detectors like those found at airports. According to the club, the system immediately sounds an alarm if firearms or knives are carried.

But what about pyrotechnics? An alarm is only triggered if the objects contain metallic components – which is the case with conventional pyrotechnics with coloring.
Fast and stress-free entry to the stadium
A big advantage of the new system is the increased speed. The automated control makes entry much quicker. In addition, women and men no longer have to queue separately. What is also new is that items such as glasses, watches and belts can remain on the body or in jacket and trouser pockets. Even bags and backpacks up to the size of DIN A4 no longer have to be stored.

If the system does not trigger an alarm, fans go straight to ticket scanning. However, if an alarm occurs, a follow-up check by security staff is required. Only after the spectator has removed all items from the bags and backpacks and successfully passed the metal detector is he or she allowed to enter the arena. Manual checks should continue to be carried out on a random basis.
