From V-test, the price comparator of the Flemish energy regulator Vreg, uses a new method to predict how much energy suppliers will charge on an annual basis. ‘It will provide a better estimate’, says spokesman Leen Vandezande. The Vreg wants ‘to prevent some suppliers from getting a better place in the V-test by regularly changing the parameters used’. The consumer was misled, especially when comparing the variable rates. At the end of last year, the federal energy regulator Creg reprimanded the Liège energy supplier Mega for this.
