Everyone prepares fried foods from time to time. Thanks to frying, the kitchen eliminates a typical smell, which in most cases is prevented by a hood. Unfortunately, sometimes it persists and it’s a big deal to get rid of it. What are the options?
Try fabric softener
In this case, fabric softener is great. Create your own odor remover. You will need a saucepan, fabric softener and water. Bring a pot with water and fabric softener to the boil and stir until the water has completely evaporated. Only a pleasant smell will remain in the kitchen instead of the smell of frying.
Use herbs or fruit
Similarly, you can also use herbs or fruits. Don’t be afraid to experiment, any strong scent will drown out the smell and the kitchen will breathe great. You don’t even have to wait, you can start already while frying. You can freely experiment with perfume.
Add the fruit directly to the oil
One way to combat the smell of fruit is to dip it directly into the oil you’re frying it in. Apple slices are best suited for this purpose. The prepared food will acquire a pleasant refreshing taste. A sprig of parsley works the same way. Be careful when adding foods to the oil, as soon as they start to brown, they should be removed or replaced. Otherwise they will start to run out and this method would be counterproductive.
Choose a quality oil
The choice of oil before frying also plays its role. It should be an oil with a high smoke point, such as peanut, sesame or sunflower. You can also reduce the smell by using new frying oil and not one you use repeatedly.
How to prevent the smell?
You can also reduce odor by frying in a well-ventilated kitchen. Always keep the window open and close the kitchen door so that the smell only stays in one room. As soon as you finish frying, immediately wash off the oil from the pan and other dishes.
