The new Corona state regulation comes into force today and with it the end of the isolation requirement. Only a week ago, the state government had decided this in its cabinet meeting.
So far, people infected with corona in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania have had to isolate themselves for at least five days. Only after two days without symptoms could they go among people again. As of today, however, the isolation regulation only applies in hospitals and care facilities to protect vulnerable groups.
Minister of Health Drese: The Corona situation has changed
The Minister of Health, Stefanie Drese (SPD), justified the lifting of the isolation requirement for people infected with Covid-19 with the changed corona situation “due to the availability of effective vaccines and medicines and the high level of immunity in the population”. However, Drese continues to appeal to the personal responsibility of the population: “Anyone who is sick should still stay at home”.
The end of the obligation to isolate follows immediately after the end of the obligation to wear masks on buses and trains – this was lifted on February 2, 2023.

These Corona regulations continue to apply
Since the nationwide Infection Protection Act (IfSG) will remain in force until April 7, 2023, the following corona protection measures will also apply in MV until then:

- Fully vaccinated and recovered visitors do not need to show a test for the corona virus before entering a hospital. Unless they show typical symptoms (e.g. shortness of breath, new cough, fever and loss of smell or taste) or an infection with the corona virus was detected in the last five days before visiting a facility
- FFP2 mask requirement for visitors and employees in hospitals, care facilities and integration assistance facilities
- FFP2 mask requirement for patients and visitors in medical practices, dental practices, dialysis facilities, etc. (employees of these facilities in MV, however, are not obliged to wear a mask)
- Medical and nursing facilities can take further protective measures in individual cases
