No more blood oil for Berlin and Brandenburg

By Michael Sauerbier

The federal government presents the long-awaited solution for Schwedt’s PCK refinery: Putin’s oil company, Rosneft, has no longer been in command of the company since midnight. The Russian majority owner will be placed under trust by the Federal Network Agency for an initial period of 6 months!

Justification: Security of supply for Berlin, Brandenburg and BER airport. As with gas, Putin could turn off the oil tap. E: According to the federal government, many companies no longer work for PCK due to sanctions against Russia. Refinery employees have migrated, core business areas are at risk.

On Friday morning, Putin’s oil was still flowing through the Russian “Drushba” pipeline to Schwedt. But after the confidence decision, it can dry up at any time, even before the German oil embargo goes into effect at the end of the year. “We are preparing for possible short-term restrictions on Druzhba’s crude oil supply,” says the refinery.

And where does our fuel come from? About half of the requested amount has to come through a pipeline from the port of Rostock. It has since been modernized. “Even today, part of the supply of crude oil happens through Rostock,” says the refinery.

Polish oil can now flow from the Gdansk sea terminal through the existing Russian pipeline. Only possible through the fiduciary solution. As long as Putin was the ruler of the Schwedt refinery, the Poles did not want to deliver. Because every drop finances Russia’s bloody war of aggression.

Do I need to fill the tank now?

No! Oil reserves are stored in the CPK for several weeks. Empty gas stations are no threat.

On Friday afternoon, Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz and Economy Minister Robert Habeck presented a “package for the future” for Schwedt. Over the next few years, the oil refinery will be converted into a biofuel and hydrogen factory.

The federal government wants to provide 855 million euros for this. Brandenburg Prime Minister Dietmar Woidke (60, SPD) had asked for € 1.5 billion, almost double.

However, Woidke is pleased with the PCK’s trusteeship: “I am very happy that we have managed to take away the fears of the people in the region today. We ensure that PCK employees continue to have jobs.”
