According to Hasbro, the general fund cards have had their day of content. For example, you can win second prize in a beauty contest or you have to pay your insurance premium. Hasbro wants to make the maps more attuned to real life. “The world has changed a lot since Monopoly became a household name more than 85 years ago,” Hasbro wrote in a press release.
