No money for a Switch? Just buy a Smitch dude!

The December months are already expensive enough for Jantje Modaal, so you can imagine that the minima cannot spend a single red rotcent on Nintendo’s hybrid console. Fortunately, South American Nanica is not the bad guy, so it has decided to provide poor Colombians with an alternative; the Nanica Smitch. I shit you not.

The untrained eye – and I am talking about a particularly untrained eye in particular – could still be pretty fooled by this ingenious piece of electronics. The Smitch may not be as advanced as the original from Nintendo, but the Smitch is also equipped with removable “Joy-Cons”, which are powered by AAA batteries. The screen is probably not as HD as that of the Switch, but what do you want for fifty dollars?

Anyway, for the fifty dollars you get a handheld console with 800 games already installed, including Mario Bros., Double Dragon and Bomberman (hello, illegal ROMs!).

Speaking or illegal ROMs, Nanica naturally runs the risk that uncle Nintendo will abandon this entire mess you eat, given that the Japanese are not particularly keen on bootlegs and illegal ROMs. One website after the other dragged to court by the always jolly-looking Nintendo and even YouTubers are urged to pay attention to what they upload.
