Funding and donations are not enough
In order to finance the new manure site, Juliane Schmoll set everything in motion and requested various funding and sponsors. She also brought politicians to the farm to explain her situation. “Many people have pledged their support, but nothing has happened so far,” says Schmoll.
The state sports association is now on board and has promised funding of 108,000 euros – provided the club raises the remaining funds itself and construction starts this year. “We would have to have the concrete slab poured by the end of October at the latest, otherwise it won’t work this year,” says Schmoll.
No alternative locations for riding club
Schmoll has been able to generate almost 10,000 euros from donations so far, but the majority of the money is still missing. The chairman of the CDU city council group, Michael Hose, was also at the riding stables and promised help. “We are in the process of raising money,” he says when asked.
But time is on the club’s neck. The state sports association has only approved the funding for the current year and when it expires, Schmoll will be back to square one. “If we cannot build this manure site, we will be threatened with a ban on use with immediate effect,” says Schmoll. This means the club could not stay on the leased site – there are currently no alternative locations.
