Facebook has defended itself against accusations by US President Biden who said yesterday that the social media platform has caused corona deaths by allowing disinformation about corona vaccines. “They are killing people,” Biden told reporters at the White House on Friday.
According to Facebook, the number of people who have doubts about vaccination has actually fallen by half among its users in the US. Also, according to the latest data from Facebook, 85 percent of the platform’s users in the US have been vaccinated or plan to be vaccinated against Covid-19.
Biden’s goal was that by July 4, 70 percent of Americans would be vaccinated, but that goal was just short of meeting. “Facebook isn’t the reason it failed,” said Guy Rosen, Facebook’s vice president of integritypresident in a blog post.
