No Man’s Sky Launches on macOS Using Metal 3 API for Console-Level Graphics

Hello Games

At last year’s WWDC, Hello Games confirmed that it would use Apple’s MetalFX Upscaling technology to bring its No Man’s Sky (No Man’s Sky) to the Mac platform. Now, a year later, before WWDC 2023 starts, the game is finally officially launched on macOS. According to the official introduction, this work uses the Metal 3 API to “achieve console-level image quality on laptops and lower-end devices without compromising battery life.” All Mac computers using Apple chips and Intel Core i5 chips can run this work. Users who have purchased “No Man’s Sky” on Steam before do not need to re-purchase, and the game also supports cross-platform connection and cross-play. Save your progress.

This work is currently on Steam, and it will also be available on the Mac App Store “soon”.
