No Man’s Sky Companions Update Lets Players Tame Pets – Gaming – News

Hello Games is releasing a Companions update for No Man’s Sky. This free update allows players to tame, train and keep animals in-game. The update will be available for all platforms where the game is available.

With the Companions update, players can take up to six pets, writes developer Hello Games. Players can tame native animals on planets by feeding, playing with, and paying attention to them. These companions can also be dressed with accessories.

Users can explore planets with their pets, helping them search for resources, mark danger, and hunt enemy creatures, among other things. The update allows users to continue riding on animals and milking them after they have been fed. The animals also have a ‘neural link’ with the player’s exosuit, which allows gamers to view the mood of their pets, among other things.

If players take good care of the animals, they can also lay eggs. The player can collect these and hatch them in his or her exosuit. Egg animals will resemble their parents, according to the developer, but will “never look exactly the same.” Gamers can also adjust the genetic code of eggs in the egg sequencer, which is placed in the Space Anomaly. This should ensure more rare and unique animal species.

The update also adds several other optimizations. For example, the loading times of the PS4 version must be reduced. Also several bugs have been fixed and there are some improvements for the user interface implemented; players can now more easily select dialog options with a controller or keyboard and mouse.
