No Man’s Sky Celebrates 7th Anniversary with Free Echoes Update: Introducing Robotic Race and Exciting Features

The seven long years that we were able to spend with the Hello Games project were interwoven with perhaps all the emotions that a person can know. Disappointment, sadness, joy – take your pick. We had everything here and experienced everything, but in the end it was for the good of the cause. No Man’s Sky, after all the struggles that befell it, eventually became a phenomenon, and not just any. As a game, a few years after its release, it proved to be an example of how to completely turn around the impression of players, and the new expansion continues to do so.

No Man’s Sky welcomed a free Echoes update for its 7th anniversaryIts novelty is the addition of a robotic race that allows you to build your own mechanical avatar through the search for partsA new story is also added and space battles with pirates are also changed A new robot with robots

As we already indicated in the short recap at the beginning, the game has received countless free updates so far, which functioned as large expansions. The latest is the so-called Echoes, which brings a new robot race and also a batch of story that you can go through right now.

In this story, the new robotic race is called Autophage (that is, after the process of autophagy, which refers to the breakdown of cells) and, paradoxically, rather opens up the possibility of self-assembly. As stated in the official post, in the new update we will assemble our own robot in addition to the others. So one of the key novelties is the opportunity to try out a newly added race that has its own customization and also some perks.

As part of acquiring new parts that change these perks, you’ll go through the previously mentioned story missions. According to the developers’ estimate, these should take us about a few hours, and they also suggest that it will be a journey of knowledge about a “long-hidden civilization”.

This knowledge will therefore be quite detailed and, according to the developers, will include several layers. We know, for example, that with the “Autophages” players will be able to learn their native language, explore their secrets, perform their rituals and collect components that will later allow them to create a ceremonial staff or even a complete avatar.

However, the update brings with it other news, so if you happen to not be completely into the robot game, there is something for you too. An example is the remake of the spaceship battles, which were expanded. You can now destroy all present flagships, including those that are part of the new Pirate Dreadnoughts, and then collect their remains and sell them on the market as well.

When attacking these ships, you can target specific modules on their hulls while defending other cargo vessels (which is a new activity) to knock out their defenses, weapons or engines. There are also special openings that allow you to get close to parts of the dreadnoughts and hit their core in the style of a young Skywalker.

Improvements for Switch and PS VR2

The latest news that appeared in this update is, apart from a few expansions in the form of items and buildings (such as the new Advanced Personal Refiner), increased performance, appearance and stability. Especially for PS VR2 players, the good news will surely be that the game now offers slightly better rendering, which means a better picture if you opt for virtual reality.

On the other hand, the performance is better on the Switch. Thanks to further optimizations, the game runs a little smoother and offers redesigned anti-aliasing, which also makes all models a little sharper.
