No lines! How to make an appointment online to donate blood in IMSS hospitals?

On social networks, the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS), announced that it has a site that allows people to register if they are interested in being donorswith this they seek to speed up procedures that on many occasions become long and tiring.

During the newsletter, the director of the Central Blood BankÓscar Zamudio Chávez, reiterated that the paperworksince previously they generated the appointment through a call center, but how will they work?

“Previously, the process for registering a donation was managing your appointment through a call centerthey called, an appointment was generated and it was manually registered at the Blood Bank, this took much longer since the donor had to travel to be able to make their appointment,” he said.

One of the biggest questions about the blood donation are the requirements they request to do so, for example, some people cannot be if they consumed alcohol previously, but on what occasions?

• Be between 18 and 65 years old;
• Minimum weight of 50 Kg.
• Have, in general terms, good health.
• Not having had any surgery in the last six months.
• Not having had a tattoo, piercing or acupuncture in the last twelve months.
• Not having suffered from infections such as hepatitis B or C, HIV-AIDS, Chagas disease or syphilis.
• Not suffer from epilepsy, tuberculosis or serious heart diseases.
• Not having received organ transplants.
• Do not use intravenous or inhaled drugs.
• Women: not be pregnant or lactating.
• In the 5 days before donating, do not take painkillers.
• Not having consumed alcoholic beverages in the last 48 hours.
