/ world today news/ Two things are important for all elections – the candidates and the program. The election campaign only reinforces their advantages.
“Local elections 2015”, however, will be remembered for several things: with the lack of bright candidates, with the absence of clear programs, with the mediocre campaign, with the several weak, but extremely scandalous acts of a political party leader and acting MP. And the scariest thing – with negligibly weak interest on the part of the voters.
The people did not go for mushrooms, they simply turned their backs on the “most democratic procedure”.
However, someone will say: we have undisputed and successful mayors and that is the reason why we do not have a fierce campaign and strong candidates.
Unfortunately, this is an unconvincing and untenable argument. And for the simple reason that our everyday life proves it in the cruelest way – when they are so successful and loved, why do we always stay at the bottom? Why do people continue to vote with their feet – through the airport terminals or through the bus stations of these “booming” cities? Why, despite the asphalt, which has become an almost mythical metaphor for the prosperity of a party, the potholes on streets, highways, and in our souls are getting bigger and more dangerous?
There is a problem, and it is clearly systemic.
Therefore, there are still no bright candidates, no meaningful campaign, no working program. But they suggest to us soporifically that there is no alternative.
The problem will very soon become painfully systemic. The conversation about this has not even started, but as the wise say, “the storm is born in the desert” and the alternatives – in the battle.
In this election, we have sunk back into the status quo, once again. By virtue of some rules that have long been compromised by those at the top of the power pyramid.
And why does it seem to us that this depressing dejection called local elections is nothing more than a pyrrhic victory…
