– I have not received any hushing or anything. I do not know, no idea, says Ståle Solbakken at the press conference after Norway’s 2-0 victory against Slovakia.

The star striker needed 77 minutes to score goals in his first international match for Norway in 199 days.

Substitute Kristian Thorstvedt played the one year younger rogalendingen through – and then Haaland was safe.

– It’s amazing how toxic he is when he first gets the chance. He chops as soon as he gets it. He is like the pike in the reeds, says Sander Berge to TV 2.

Haaland himself did not appear for an interview with the licensee or at the press conference after the match.

The goal was his 13th goal in 16 international matches for Norway. He smiled and laughed when he was taken off the field in the 81st minute of the match.

– I think he started to fable that it would have been a nice goal if he braced it in. It was just nonsense, just clutter, says Solbakken about the words that were exchanged when Haaland left the field.

By then, captain Martin Ødegaard had already doubled the lead for Norway with a beautiful finish.

Norway won VG’s chance statistics with the numbers 11-2 and was clearly better than the FIFA rank neighbor Slovakia. The next opponent is Armenia.

Ståle Solbakken has already announced that Joshua King, who did not come on the field against Slovakia, will start the next match.

However, this does not mean that Erling Braut Haaland will not be part of the starting line-up.

– He is one of those who are up for consideration. But there is no such thing as him automatically being out. On the contrary. He is one of those who need some playing time and some combat training, says Solbakken – and continues:

– One thing is what you get in training, another thing is what you get in combat. Then we’ll see how he reacts to the match. Now he saved the last ten minutes, but it certainly helped to score. Then you get much lighter in the legs the next day, Solbakken smiles before he hurries out of the press conference.

Tuesday’s home match against Armenia starts at 19.00.
