Maarten is looking for a “real lady” and the lucky bride is Richelle. He is also looking for an animal-tree-house. After the ceremony, both are still a little shy but indicate that the match looks good. “It feels very familiar,” Richelle said. “Very easy right away. I really like it,” adds Maarten.
Families are also enthusiastic. “In terms of first impressions, it couldn’t be better, it’s perfect. I don’t think they could start better with the two of them,” Maarten’s friends said. Even Richelle’s friends believe in the match: “If we hear the wedding officiant’s stories about her life, this fits perfectly!”
Although Richelle understands that she has been matched with Maarten and is pleasantly surprised, sexologist and psychologist Eveline Stallaart is still cautious in her statements. “I saw two people who were very happy with each other,” she tells presenter Carlo Boszhard. “They weren’t fireworks, but I immediately saw that it was good. (…) Obviously I was hoping for a touch more, but that’s fine with them, let them look at the cat out of the tree a little.” So she thinks the newlyweds are “still hitting on each other.” “That doesn’t have to mean anything wrong.”
Also in the starting blocks are married couple number four: 34-year-old ‘faithful dog’ Wichman, a soldier in the Ministry of Defence, and bubbly teacher Loes, 30. Wichman has been in several relationships and has been single for a year now. “I just want to be able to go home, literally go home and someone is waiting for you. And that someone is looking forward to seeing you, but also vice versa,” he says in front of the cameras of the program.
Loes has been single for almost two years and is looking for a ‘nice sweet boy’ who doesn’t take life too seriously and who he can laugh and have fun with. Loes: “Everyone in my life has a child, a partner. When I see that, I think: I would love that too.”
