Gabriel Attal, Government spokesperson announces this Friday, January 1, 2021 that the curfew would extend from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. for fifteen departments French.
By the way Rhône department, not even Lyon metropolis do not appear in the list announced by the Government. Unlike the neighboring departments of Jura, Haute-Saône and Saône et Loire who are facing a significant rise in the epidemic and will therefore have to comply with the new rule. None of the departments of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region is not affected by the hardening of measures. The curfew therefore remains in force from 8 p.m.
The list of departments likely to evolve
If today’s announcement is obviously good news for the Lyonnais, it is important not to rejoice too quickly. The government spokesperson indicated that the list of the fifteen departments could be revised depending on the evolution of the epidemic after the end of year holidays.
However, according to Public Health France we must expect a significant increase in cases and in parallel hospital pressure. The game is therefore far from won in the Rhône.
No reopening for places of culture
Bad news on the other hand for the cultural sector which hoped for an authorized reopening from January 7. Gabriel Attal indicated that this hypothesis is no longer relevant.
He also dampened the hopes of restaurant owners by indicating that the reopening envisaged for January 20 could be called into question in the event of a rise in epidemic statistics which according to scientists should be the case.
