So far, there has been no export of fertilizers, including ammonia, under the grain deal. This is stated in a message released on Monday by the office of the UN Coordinator for the Black Sea Grain Initiative.
“Now there are 14 ships in Ukrainian ports, loading 600,000 tons of grain and food. The initiative also provides for the export of fertilizers, including ammonia. So far, there has been no such export, – noted in the text.
The statement emphasizes that no ships were inspected at the Joint Coordination Center in Istanbul on 7 and 8 May. The document also notes that the number of ship inspections under the grain deal has dropped sharply since May 1. 26 vessels with more than 1.15 million tons of cargo are awaiting inspection.
High-level talks on a grain deal are due to take place in Istanbul this week.
