Health authorities in Norway announced on Monday two new deaths of patients after vaccination with the drug “AstraZeneca”. Both died after thromboembolic complications.
Thus, the patients who died after immunization with the vaccine in question are now a total of four in the Scandinavian country for the last two weeks. Meanwhile, it became clear that two other patients were admitted to Oslo University Hospital with similar symptoms of thrombosis.
The Medicines Agency said it could not rule out a link between the deaths and the AstraZeneca vaccine, and recalled that such symptoms were not seen when vaccinating patients with Pfizer and Moderna.
At this stage, Norway, along with Denmark and Sweden, do not intend to renew the immunization of its citizens with the Oxford vaccine until the country’s health regulators complete the research, the results of which are expected in the coming days, informs the online portal “20minutos”.
