The official debut as a trainer for Vincent Kompany, and everyone had only one thing in mind: did Trebel remain in the team? The answer was a resounding yes. Michel Vlap – who tested an hour before the match – had to drop out injured, making Marco Kana the third man in midfield. At Mouscron, Dabila immediately got a basic place in the center of the back and Tabekou was also allowed to start a match after two short raids.
With Ait El Hadj on the left and Doku on the right, the Purple & White immediately created pressure, but the crosses of the youngsters were just not sharp enough to create danger. The first real chance came in fifteen minutes: El Hadj threw the ball into the box, but Doku kicked wide in a while. The visitors were limited to defending, and only after 25 minutes Badibanga ventured an attempt that sailed far over.

The Purple & White monopolized the ball – no less than 82 percent after half an hour – and it was noticeable that both Zulj and Trebel often dived into the corners. Both midfielders may not be the fastest, but they do have the kicking technique to create danger from there. Dimata breaks the spell

Dabila decided to give Anderlecht a helping hand by taking down the substitute Tau in the sixteen. Anderlecht wanted to play the match quietly, but the Brussels residents almost got themselves into trouble. Koffi kept Zulj from the 2-0 ten minutes before the end, and Tau also did not get the ball past the strong goalkeeper in the return. Mouscron brought Gnohéré – who did not steal his nickname bison – between the lines, but it was the substitute Faraj who, after a walk through the Brussels defense, was just unable to tap the ball. Anderlecht, for example, shoot themselves in the foot for the second time this season by relinquishing an almost certain victory. Coach Kompany still has some work to do for the rest of the competition.
