In the evening hours of Thursday (5 January) there was a break-in at the Gertrud Bäumer secondary school north of Dortmund. Unknown men entered the building between 4:30 and 10:00 pm and flooded the teaching kitchen. Police are now looking for possible witnesses.
Incorrect message: “Say thank you for not taking any lessons”
According to preliminary information, the perpetrators broke a window of the school. This gave them access to the teaching kitchen. They clogged all the drains and flooded the kitchen. They also tried to gain access to the rest of the building, but were unsuccessful.
The authors have left an inscription on the blackboard to show what they think about education: “Say thank you that you have no lessons” (error in the original). However, the wish does not come true: the damage is marginal and will not affect the start of school next Monday. Classes continue as planned, and because of the mistakes, it’s also good that the culprits go back to school.
Police are looking for witnesses who witnessed the crime or suspicious people in the area. Please direct information to the Permanent Criminal Service on Tel. 0231-132-7441.
