In Germany, however, the classification is currently much easier if a few parameters are taken into account: “Avatar 2” is the most successful film on a Christmas weekend in Germany (since recordings started!) if Christmas Eve falls on a Saturday.
Of course, the sci-fi fantasy epic and sequel to the most successful film of all time also jokingly leads the local film charts. “The Way Of Water” attracted 735,000 admissions to German cinemas over the Christmas weekend and, as expected, clearly took the top spot.
