No causal relationship has yet been established between Johnson & Johnson vaccine and thrombi – Worldwide

U.S. chief health officials on Friday said they had not yet found a causal link between Johnson & Johnson’s (J&J) vaccine against the new coronavirus and blood clots formed in people after the vaccine.

“It simply came to our notice then [trombu veidošanās] causation, and we are continuing to investigate and evaluate these cases, “the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) said in a statement.

The agency said it was aware of “some people” in the United States who had blood clots and low platelet counts after receiving the J&J vaccine.

“There can be many different causes for both conditions. We will continue to inform the public as we learn more,” the FDA said.

The European Medicines Agency (EMA) has started investigating the possible link between the J&J vaccine against the new coronavirus and the thrombi that have formed in four people, one of whom has died after being vaccinated with the vaccine.

“One case occurred in clinical trials and three during vaccinations in the United States. One of them was fatal,” EZA said.

The European Union (EU) has approved the J&J vaccine, which has become the fourth EU-approved Covid-19 vaccine, but the vaccine has not yet been introduced in the EU. It is scheduled to do so later this month.

EZA said on Wednesday that blood clots should be reported as a very rare side effect of AstraZeneca’s Covid-19 vaccine. J&J and AstraZeneca vaccines use similar adenovirus vector technology.
