No buses and trams in Utrecht on Wednesday morning due to strike

On Wednesday morning, employees of various transport companies will stop working, including in Utrecht. This concerns train personnel and employees of regional transport. The advice is not to travel or use other transport between 04:00 and 08:00 on 11 September.

Trade unions CNV and FNV are organising the public transport strike on Wednesday, which will take place in regional transport throughout the Netherlands. The timetables of carriers NS, Arriva, EBS, Keolis, Qbuzz (U-OV) and Transdev (Connexxion, Hermes, Breng) will be suspended, reports U-OV.

There will also be a strike in Utrecht. That morning, no buses or trams will be running from the Utrecht transport company U-OV. “The advice is to use alternative transport,” writes the Utrecht transport company. “From 08:00, passengers can use the timetable again.”

Early retirement

Just like with the police strikes, There will be a strike on public transport on Wednesday “because the unions are demanding more and better plans from the government regarding heavy professions”, according to the public transport platform 9292.

Police officers, but also other people with a heavy profession, can still retire early. However, that arrangement will expire in 2025.
